Terms of service

ProWebLocal, in effect from August 22, 2026

These are the terms of the subscription, written the way I'd explain them on the phone. They apply between ProWebLocal and the business taking out the subscription. If anything here is unclear, ask me before you sign up and I'll answer plainly.

1. What the fee covers

The monthly or yearly fee covers a complete website, its hosting, its web address, and unlimited changes to its content for as long as the subscription runs. There is no setup fee and no separate charge for changes.

It is a service rather than a one-time build. You are not paying me once to make a site and then leaving it to age. For as long as the subscription is active, you are paying for it to stay online and fast, and for your opening hours, your prices and your menu or schedule to stay right.

2. Changes and how quickly they happen

Send changes by email, text message or WhatsApp, whichever is easiest for you. It can be a photo of the new menu, a note that the prices went up, a change of hours for the summer, a closure over the holidays, a new photo of the place.

Most changes are published the same day I receive them. What I guarantee is one week: every change is live within one week of the moment it reaches me. Same day is what you should normally expect, and the week is what you can hold me to.

Changes to the content of your site are included, as often as you need them. If you want something genuinely new built, a whole new section or a different kind of site, tell me and we'll talk it through first.

3. No commitment, and how to cancel

There is no contract and no minimum term. You can cancel at any time, without giving a reason. One email or one text message is enough, and I won't ask you to justify it.

When you cancel, the site stays online until the end of the period you have already paid for: one month after your last payment on the monthly plan, one year after it on the yearly plan. At the end of that period the site is taken offline. Periods already served are not refunded.

If a payment simply stops, because a card expired or you changed your mind or the business closed, the same thing happens and nothing more. The site stays up until the end of the period already paid for, then comes down. There is no penalty, no cancellation fee, and nothing to pay afterward.

4. Who owns what

The website itself belongs to ProWebLocal: the files, the design, the code, and the web address (the domain name). Your subscription is a license to use it and to have it published under that address for as long as the subscription is running.

Everything you give me stays entirely yours: your text, your photos, your menus and price lists, your logo, your business name. I claim no right over any of it and use it only to build and run your site. If you leave, you take all of that with you and I delete my copies on request.

Canceling is always free. It costs you nothing under section 3, and the $600 below is not a cancellation fee. It is never charged for leaving. It covers the opposite situation, the one where you would rather keep the site than let it come down.

So if you would rather take the site over and host it somewhere else, that is possible: the complete files, together with transfer of the web address into your own account, for a one-time payment of $600 (or €500 if you pay in euros). Once the transfer is done the site and the address are yours outright and the subscription ends. If you don't want that, simply cancel. The site stays up until the end of the period you have paid for, then comes down, and you owe nothing.

5. Availability

Your site runs on established cloud infrastructure, not on a machine in my office, and the provider matches its electricity use with renewable energy purchases. The sites I build are small and efficient, a fraction of the weight of a typical business site, so the data transferred and the energy used on each visit stay very low.

Nobody can honestly guarantee that a website is never unreachable, and I won't. What I do commit to is that if your site goes down, restoring it is my responsibility and my first priority, at no cost to you.

And if it does go wrong, you shouldn't pay for the time it was off. For every day your site was unreachable for more than one hour, I take that day off your next invoice, pro rata: next month's invoice on the monthly plan, the renewal invoice on the yearly plan. If no further invoice is due, because you have canceled in the meantime, I refund you the amount instead. You do have to ask; it isn't applied automatically. An email or a text message is enough and I'll work out the figure.

6. What I ask of you

Two things only. First, that the material you send me is yours to use: your own photos and text, or material you have permission to publish. Second, that nothing you ask me to put online is unlawful or misleading.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you ask me to publish: prices, opening hours, admission, schedules, legal information about your business. I publish what you send me. If something is clearly unlawful I will take it down and tell you why.

7. Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor. Your card details go straight to them. I never see them and never store them. Invoices are issued automatically and sent to your email address after each payment.

If you joined on a launch price, the site said so next to the price, along with when the standard price starts. The price you pay is the one shown on the site on the day you subscribe, and it stays your price unless I tell you otherwise in advance. I may change my prices at some point. If I do, I will tell you by email before the new price applies, and it only takes effect at your next billing date: next month on the monthly plan, the renewal on the yearly plan. A period you have already paid for is never re-invoiced at a higher rate.

If the new price doesn't suit you, there is nothing to negotiate. You cancel under section 3 before it applies, at any time, with no reason needed and nothing to pay.

8. Changes to these terms

If these terms need to change, I will tell you by email before the change takes effect, and I will say plainly what is different. If the new terms don't suit you, you can cancel under section 3, whenever you like, with no reason needed and nothing to pay.
